The governing body at its Jan. 11 meeting appointed a member member each to the Housing Authority and the Planning Board. City Council also confirmed seven reappointments by Mayor Raymond Giacobbe to the Redevelopment Agency and Zoning Board of Adjustment.

Housing Authority (AR-40-21)

  • Robert Simon of Whittier Street was reappointed to a term ending Aug. 15, 2025. The Housing Authority oversees hundreds of residential units across several complexes in town. The entity is governed by a seven-member board, with eight staff running the day-to-day operations,  headed by Executive Director Jennifer Wenson Maier, who served on City Council from 2004 to 2019 representing the 5th Ward.

Planning Board (AR-41-21)

  • City Councilman At-large Jeremy Mojica of West Lake Avenue was reappointed to a one-year to a term running through 2021. The nine members of the Planning Board, along with several alternates,  serve varying lengths of terms, and this seat typically is one year, appointed by the mayor.

Zoning Board of Adjustment (AR-42-21)

Five members were reappointed to varying terms:

  • Jelsie Basso of Mooney Place (through 2021)
  • William Tomkiewicz of Madison Hill Road (2022)
  • Roy L. Smith of Stockton Street (2022)
  • Adrian Zapotocky of West Inman Avenue (2024)
  • Brandon Givens of Teneyke Place (2024)

There are nine primary members of the Zoning Board along with four alternates.

Redevelopment Agency (AR-42-21)

  • Anthony Dalmau of Columbus Place was appointed to a full, four-year term ending 2025. He first was appointed in 2018 to fill a vacancy when Joseph Gibilisco stepped down after being appointed to the remaining term as 6th Ward City Councilman.
  • Mary Gustofson of Rudolph Avenue also was appointed to a four-year term ending in 2025. Like Dalmau, she was appointed in 2018 to fill the remaining two years on a term after Angela Pryor stepped down.

The Redevelopment Agency has a total of seven commissioners.

  1. Why is it that every time that I click on a news story it is blocked by a huge overlay promoting the Chamber of Commerce?
