City Council passed a resolution (AR-249-24) at its regular meeting on Monday night authorizing the filing of liens against properties to recover cleanup costs incurred by the city.

Eight properties in this round of liens were not among those that were cited the last time around in August. when 21 properties were hit with liens, and the 31 properties in April. Each round of liens has been succesfully less than the previous, from $31,000 in April, to about $7,000 in August, and $3,000 this month.

Among the repeats was 767 Leesville Ave., which the city has initiated foreclosure proceedings against. City Council also has authorized the Planning Board to draft a redevelopment plan for the property.

This round of liens ranged from $70 to $400, barely totaling just over $3,000.
