Editor’s note: This is the 7th part in an ongoing series about the 94-page downtown strategic vision plan , drafted by Heyer, Gruel & Associates, that was unanimously adopted by the Planning Board during a special meeting on Feb. 8 and presented to City Council on Feb. 14. This post continues a look at existing conditions, specifically major employers.
“Even though more people leave the city than come to it, a considerable percentage of workers enter Rahway each day,” according to the strategic plan. “Given the number of employers that are located within the bounds of Rahway with more than 100 employees, it can be assumed that many of the individuals coming to Rahway to work are heading to one of those major employers.”
