City Council at its first meeting of the year filled a vacancy on the Redevelopment Agency, bringing the fifth new commissioner to the seven-member board since September.
Anne Marie Williams of West Inman Avenue was appointed to the seat previously held by Michael Staryak, who resigned in November. The unexpired term runs through 2016. City Council approved AR-3-15 at its organization meeting on Jan. 5.
Williams has been at JPMorgan Chase almost 18 years where she is a vice president managing the Mexico On Boarding Team covering ultra high net wealth clients. With her husband Corey, she owns Willit Concierge, a social concierge service based in Rahway. A resident of Rahway for about nine years, Williams also serves as a local Girl Scout Troop leader.
Williams is the first appointment to the agency since September, when four commissioners and the executive director resigned, replaced at the same meeting. Tim Nash and Paul Sefranka are the only sitting commissioners who have served longer than five months.
Redevelopment commissioners are appointed by the mayor, with confirmation by City Council. The position is unpaid.
