In case you haven’t been to the Park Square Web site of late, it’s been updated to reflect a planned June 2009 occupancy. Previous timelines had pegged October 2008 and March 2009 for residential occupancy at the four-story, 159-unit rental development.
It’s been about a year since brick work was started on the Irving Street facade and construction of the Main Street side began. The photo above was taken Sunday, and you can see the streetscape work continuing up to the corner of Elizabeth Avenue. You’ll recall the first tenant was signed for the first-floor Irving Street retail space earlier this year.

Looks like they haven’t adjusted the prices on their website. I’ll be shocked if they fill that place based on those prices, given the steep discounts offered elsewhere.
reposting from previous thread:OK, so I take this to mean there aren’t really many compelling reasons to live in River Place unless you like noise?… for you RiverPlacers out there, why don’t you just discuss this matter of the Pathfinder lady with the building management? As a tenant you are entitled to “quiet enjoyment” of your home. It should be written somewhere in your lease as I think all NJ leases require such language. The landlord would be on solid ground in asking the resident to have their car fixed. Unless the woman is parking in a public space. Then you got nothing. But doesn’t River Place have designated parking? If she is parking there, she can be forced to fix the problem or park outside of the designated area.If the landlord/manager hears complaints from more than one person s/he will likely want to resolve the problem rather than lose tenants.
It will be good for Rahway when Park Square finally comes online (although, I’m not holding my breath for the June opening). However, there is no way they are going to fill that place with those rents. Times have changed.
I dont know if you heard but that flea bag Kings motel has been sold to a new owner who has no plans to renovate it and will continue to use it for section 8 housing…..So much for redevelopment
Anon, Haven’t heard Kings Inn being sold. What’s your source on that info?
MArk – my source is Peter P. – he said that the group that bought it sold it to another group that has no plans to renovate it.
