Judging by the recent weather, you’ll want to bookmark these options to keep them in mind. The August reader poll, sponsored by RahwayIsHappening.com (the Rahway Special Improvement District), asks:

There’s traditional ice cream and gelato and a few liquid options, such as, mint lemonade from Madina Halal and The Protein Station‘s mango passion. There are others that straddle the line between liquid and solid, like Tasa Teahouse’s coconut pudding. Another newcomer is Illusion World Popsicle and its vanilla pop rocks cone.
The Colombian shaved ice from Cholao El P’Tas features kola syrup, banana, passion fruit, lulo, pineapple, soursop, blackraspbery sauce, condensed milk, milo, and strawberry. Talk about a mouthful!
Last year’s poll saw a total of 280 votes cast, with Wholly Cow coming out on top, and rather convincingly. The Main Street gelato shop garnered almost two-thirds of the votes far outdistancing Melao Cafe and Creamery, which finished second.
Remember, voters are limited to 1 choice per vote, and votes are limited to 1 per IP address. Results of the favorite sweet treat poll will be revealed by the end of the month, look for a post to be up on the blog heading into the Labor Day Weekend.
