The results of the monthly reader poll for September, sponsored by RahwayIsHappening.com (Rahway Special Improvement District):
What’s your favorite barber shop in Rahway?
- Shulton Barber Shop — 24% (8/33)
- [TIE] Rahway Barber Shop — 18% (6/33)
- [TIE] Rahway’s Finest Barber Shop — 18% (6/33)
- [TIE] T-Liners — 18% (6/33)
- Barber Gods — 12% (4/33 votes)
- Bryan’s Barber Shop — 6% (2/33 votes)
- The Main Barber Lounge — 3% (1/33 votes)
Last year’s Favorite Barber Shop poll garnered more than three times as many votes (109) as this year. Last year’s winner, Shulton Barber Shop on St. Georges Avenue, grabbed almost two-thirds of the vote, outdistancing Rahway’s Finest Barber Shop and Barber Gods by a considerable margin.
This year, Shulton came out on top once again but the difference at the top was much, much closer. Shulton’s snared about a quarter of the vote (24%) to nab the win but three other places were right behind them with 18% of the vote, trailing by a mere two votes: Rahway Barber Shop, Rahway’s Finest Barber Shop, and T-Liners.
Rounding out the field were Barber Gods finishing 5th (12%), followed by Bryan’s Barber Shop (6%) and The Main Barber Lounge (3%). Feel free chime in on the comments section about how you voted and what makes these places your favorites.
