It wasn’t exactly the most scintillating finish for the poll results in recent memory but we could use a light-hearted post this week, despite the paltry turnout.

Results of the monthly reader poll for September, sponsored by RahwayIsHappening.com (the Rahway Special Improvement District), are as follows:
What’s your favorite dessert in Rahway?
- Melao Cafe and Creamery — 23% (3/13)
- {TIE} Gigi’s Latin Bistro — 15% (2/13)
- The Coffee Box — 15% (2/13)
- Other — 15% (2/13)
- {TIE} The Waiting Room — 8% (1/13)
- Ortega’s BBQ Churrasqueira — 8% (1/13)
- Dairy Queen — 8% (1/13)
- Moaaz Mediterranean Grill — 8% (1/13)
Of course, the results are one thing. The next question becomes: Which dessert specifically won you over in this poll? Was the it the varieties of flan, Res Leches de Chocolate, or Guayaba and cream cheese cake at Gigi’s Latin Bistro on Main Street? Or maybe the baklava at Mooaz? Tyrone’s Peach Crisp, with vanilla ice cream and homemade caramel sauce, was September’s special at The Waiting Room and it sounds downright autumnal. And there’s no way to go wrong with the homemade baked goods at The Coffee Box. It’s no wonder that it was such a close vote in the results for this month.
Also, I’d be curious who specifically garnered the two “Other” votes in the poll? Was there some place that I missed? There certainly were plenty of options to vote for but I’d be curious who might have been left out?
