The reader poll for December, sponsored by RahwayIsHappening.com (Rahway Special Improvement District), was a collaboration with the Rahway Chamber of Commerce for a holiday window decorating contest by local businesses. And boy were there a lot of votes.

Without question, the poll garnered the most votes of any poll yet on RahwayRising, by far. Grand Delicias on West Grand Avenue jumped out to an early lead in first days of the poll before Gelber Associates overtook them, and then it was back and for awhile. Moda 300 Salon on St. Georges Avenue came on strong  but in the end, Grand Delicias eclipsed 1,000 votes, grabbing 31 percent of the incredible total of almost 3,300 to take home the victory, and with it a plaque, a feature in the Rahway Review, and $250.

Gelber Associates on St. Georges Avenue finished 2nd with 28 percent of the vote, followed by Moda 330 salon, at 9 percent, which edged Millie and Joy, with 8 percent, and Gigi’s Latin Bistro, rounding out the top five with 6 percent. Thanks to all who voted and to all who participated in decorating their windows.
