Just in time for the holiday weekend, we’ve got results of the latest monthly reader poll: What’s your favorite sandwich in Rahway?

The monthly poll for May — sponsored by the Rahway Arts and Business Partnership (RABP) — asked faithful readers:

What’s your favorite sandwich in Rahway?

1. Flynn’s Pub House, 23% (11/47 votes)

Despite the somewhat muted voter turnout this time around, everyone got a little love in this poll, with 11 eateries receiving one of the 47 votes, and four joints finishing with 2 votes. That left the top four finishers breaking away from the pack of 15.

The top two — Flynn’s and Irving Inn Social — were separated by just 4 votes, making for a difference of 23% versus 15%, with Bianca’s in 3rd by just 1 vote with 13%. That trio accounted for just more than half of the overall votes. The Waiting Room finished 4th with 9%.

There was one vote for Other but no one has piped up about who that might have been. Feel free to share in the comments below.

Way back in the early days of the blog, (circa 2009) Flynn’s won the Favorite Cheeseburger Burger poll, among some heated competition that had more than 150 votes cast. This time around, there wasn’t quite as much excitement, with about a third of that total coming in, at 47 votes cast overall. Today, Flynn’s Pub House has an impressive array of specialty sandwiches and a half-dozen different kinds of burgers.
