Where am I going with this? Well, the monthly reader poll for November, of course.

And what more appropriate month to launch this poll than November, which is known for No-Shave November, as well as Movember. Both efforts focus on cancer awareness and men’s health.

No-Shave November is described as “a month-long journey during which participants forgo shaving and grooming in order to evoke conversation and raise cancer awareness.” Since 2003, “Movember has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world, challenging the status quo, shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men.”

This is our first poll that asks about your favorite barber shop and there’s quite a few options around town, to say nothing of hair and beauty salons, so we had to break up the category before it go out of hand with voting options. Perhaps look for a future poll that will focus on favorite beauty or hair salon. There’s plenty to choose from in Rahway in that category too.

The poll will remain open for several weeks and feel free to chime in within the comments to back up your vote. Look for results to be posted a little early given the Thanksgiving holiday. But also, be on the lookout for another poll to launch a little early for December.
