There’s so much to take into account when considering pizza: thin crust, thick crust, Sicilian, plain cheese, what toppings — the list goes on and on.

We went more than a whole year without a pizza poll — or any sort of poll for that matter! — how did we manage?!
Our last pizza poll was in 2019 so now we’re coming back strong, with a monthly series of polls, sponsored by the Rahway Arts and Business Partnership (RABP). It’s time again to make your voice heard on this vitally important subject. Now, more than ever, it’s important to weigh in to know where others know you stand.
But seriously, it’s also important to recognize just how vital these places to our community during a time when many are just hanging on. The reader poll is back for 2021 and it’ll be a monthly series to highlight a different sector in town and we kick it off now with what’s historically been the most popular question on the blog: What’s your favorite pizza in Rahway?
I often hear raves about the “Grandma Pie” at Plum Tomato and there’s nothing quite like the retro vibe at Nancy’s Towne House while noshing a thin-crust .
Historically, Nancy’s Towne House has done very well in our (somewhat) annual favorite pizza poll — a seven-time winner! However, hot on their heels has been the newcomer in town — right across the street. Il Forno a Legna opened two years ago in the former Niece’s Piece space at Lewis and Main streets. It has has since topped our last pizza poll in 2019, edging out Nancy’s, and was awarded Best Pasta and Best Entree at the 2019 Rahway Taste of Spring.
The poll will be open for three weeks, with results compiled and posted at the end of this month.
