Cinco de Mayo seems like an appropriate day to launch the monthly reader poll for May.

I’m not sure exactly when the anniversary of Mexico’s victory over the Second French Empire at the Battle of Puebla became a a reason to go out for margaritas but here we are. So with that in mind, here’s the May reader poll, sponsored by RahwayIsHappening.com (Rahway Special Improvement District):
As usual, Rahway can boast of a diverse array of taco offerings, from longtime stalwarts like Cubanu on Main Street and La Malinche on Irving Street to newbies like La Chula on East Cherry Street, and not-so-new Las Piñatas on Whittier Street. The great thing about tacos is that you can usually find them almost anywhere — not just Mexican joints – look no further than this poll, which includes The “World Famous” Waiting Room.
Tacos are so ubiquitous that you can also find them just about anywhere, whether restaurants, eateries or other. Just in this poll, there’s Antojitos Salvadoreños Pupuseria & Grocery on East Grand Avenue, Bianca’s Deli on Irving Street, and Grand Delicias on West Grand Avenue (which happens to be the winner of December’s reader poll for favorite holiday window display).
The completely unscientific poll will be up for a few weeks, with results posted by the end of the month. Look for it by about Memorial Day or thereabouts. Feel free to comment on your choices in the space below. And remember, votes are limited to one per IP address.
Enjoy your tacos and margaritas!
