The Redevelopment Agency this month designated a redeveloper for a proposed 75-unit mixed-used project downtown.
The resolution indicates 75 units but a concept plan presented last month called for 86 units along Irving Street between Elm Avenue and Poplar Street (map), at the site of the Northfield Savings Bank branch.
The conditional designation lasts for 120 days (four months). During that time, the developer and the agency will negotiate terms of a redevelopment agreement.
DMR Construction also is the developer behind a similarly proposed 88-unit project that includes the Mangos Grill property and some adjacent parcels. The firm also recently acquired four downtown properties in foreclosure that were once held by Dornoch.
