For the second time in six years, Rahway will host Downtown New Jersey’s (DNJ) annual conference.
This year’s event, with the theme “How to Get Feet on the Street — In Your Downtown!”, will be Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The invited luncheon speaker will be U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, with two conference sessions and a special counseling session with “Dr. Downtown.”
Rahway last hosted the Downtown NJ conference in 2008 at the Union County Performing Arts Center. This year the all-day conference will be held at the Hamilton Stage for Performing Arts, 360 Hamilton St.
Third Ward Councilman Bob Bresenhan issued a press release announcing the conference: “Downtown New Jersey, Inc. has selected our fine city to show what is possible in New Jersey downtown areas. Living proof that with the right infrastructure, leadership and participation of citizens it is possible to revitalize once blighted areas,” he said in a statement yesterday.
