Redevelopment Agency Chairman Egon Behrmann died yesterday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
Behrmann, 55, was a longtime member of the Zoning Board of Adjustment and Planning Board. He stepped down from the Zoning Board in 2014 to accept an appointment to the Redevelopment Agency. He served the last two years as chairman of the seven-member agency and this year had been reappointed to a new four-year term.
Berhmann worked for PSE&G in Elizabeth for the past 30 years as an overhead supervisor, according to an obituary from Lehrer-Gibilisco Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Janet; two sons, Robert, and his wife Allison, and Michael; daughter, Laura; his mother and father, Enio and Irenia, and two sisters, Karen Quagliato and Carla Wolf.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Lehrer-Gibilisco Funeral Home with funeral services Friday at 11 a.m. Internment will be at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.
