Slyders fans, rejoice. The Planning Board last night gave final approval for plans to bring White Castle back to Rahway. The 36-seat eatery, with a drive-through, is planned along Route 1 north near East Scott Avenue.
A White Castle franchise had been located on the highway closer to Milton Avenue but was relocated several years ago to make way for the Routes 1/9 realignment project.

All these years of enjoying their steam-grilled goodness, and I never knew they were actually spelled “slyders”!
Rat burgers is the proper spelling in an affectionate context.
This will mark the beginning of the official Rahway Rebirth. Amen, Hallelujah and Praise the Lord.0% sarcasm here.
Bachmann’s and Rats both coming back. now if that does not put a smile on your face nothing will.
I can almost smell the steamed onions now…oh, wait…that smell is Bayway refinery 😉
Oh yeah! I hate driving down to the edge of Linden in the middle of the night. It’s always so busy over there.

HI ALL, THIS IS THE ONE ESTABLISHMENT THAT I HOPE WILL BE REBUILT. I WISH THEY WOULD BUILD ONE IN MT. POCONO OR NEARBY.THERE IS A BIG DEMAND IN THIS AREA. THERE WAS ONE PLANNED FOR THE CROSSINGS HOWEVER IT WAS NEVER BUILT. THESE ARE OUR FAVORITE SNACK FOOD OF ALL TIME. THERE IS ONLY ONE FLAVOR…………I TRIED THEIR FROZEN WHITE CASTLES . THEY ARE GOOD BUT NOT THE SAME AS THE ORIGINALS. I PREDICT THAT THE WHITE CASTLE WILL BE AROUND FOR THE NEXT 1000 YEARS AT LEAST. GLN
