Fourteen disparate properties throughout Rahway were hit with liens for cleanup costs totaling almost $7,500 associated with code enforcement violations, including at least five properties that have been cited previously.
Twenty properties — including at least three repeat offenders — were slapped with liens totaling almost $12,000 to recover costs related to city cleanup.
Another 11 liens were or will be filed against properties to recover cleanup costs incurred by the city.
Six properties were hit with liens by the city to recover the cost of cleaning up a half-dozen properties.

The state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announced the 600th home purchased as part of its Blue Acres program. Blue Acres has acquired about two dozen properties in Rahway, including four more since RahwayRising.com last reported on the topic.
At least 30 homes have been identified for acquisition by the state for flood control efforts along the Rahway River watershed.
