Revisting recent PILOTs

The tax assessment for Meridia Water’s Edge is more than $8 million, 20 percent higher than what I estimated a few years ago before construction began.  That means the disparity in would-be property taxes versus the Payment In Lieu Of Taxes (PILOT) is even wider than I originally projected.

Lafayette Village to break ground this week

Construction on Meridia Lafayette Village is expected to begin this week. The 115-unit project is planned at the corner of Main and Monroe streets, where The Savoy, a 36-unit condominium project had been proposed before the real estate market imploded.

Water’s Edge almost two-thirds leased

Redevelopment Agency budget adopted
