Water’s Edge almost two-thirds leased
Temporary Certificates of Occupancy (TCO) have been issued for all four residential floors of the 108-unit Meridia Water’s Edge complex and about 70 units have been leased to date.

Commissioner expresses support for signage
When Tim Nash leaves Luciano’s and looks across the street, he’s reminded how terrible the vacant lot looks. There’s a fence but not much activity at the corner of Main and Monroe streets of late. Most of the action has been going on out of sight, at Zoning Board meetings and through the state permitting process, but construction on the 115-unit Meridia Lafayette Village is expected to start later this year.
State Comptroller requests documents
The Office of the State Comptroller (OSC) last month requested documents related to the Redevelopment Agency and Rahway Arts District (RAD). The state office asked for documents dating back to January 2009. The inquiry was included in the correspondence of last week’s Redevelopment Agency meeting agenda (Pages 14-15). Proposal for Wheatena runs into ‘issues’
The developer behind a concept to build several hundred residential units at the former Wheatena site has discovered some issues in the title search but also estimates environmental cleanup costs could be more than originally expected.
