It’s a little late this year but here’s a look the most popular posts during 2018.
While the home page registered 28,221 views, WordPress registered the following as the most highly trafficked specific pages during 2018 (one post was actually from 2017):
- The Willows begins accepting applications, Dec. 19, 2017– 3,408 views. This post was actually from late 2017 but remained popular throughout 2018.
- Renovations under way on former Pathmark site, June 25 — 1,688 views. Lots of activity at Delco Plaza probably had readers looking for answers on what’s going on over there.
- New Wawa taking shape on St. Georges Avenue, March 22 — 1,003 views. Everyone seems to love reading about Wawa, as evidenced by this post but also older posts about Zoning Board approval of the project.
- Pizza, juice and more, Sept. 10 — 844 views. A rundown of recent new commercial openings, including a new wood-fired pizza place downtown.
- Wawa slated to open later this summer, June 19 — 792 views
- Reva breaks ground at former Center Circle, July 18 — 685 views. The five-story, 219-unit development along Main Street was one of the projects that got under way last year, after demolition of the Center Circle complex.
- Interim mayor likely to be appointed Monday, Jan. 4 — 637 views
- First phase begins on The Brownstones, June 27 — 623 views. Another project that broke ground during the past year, the first phase will be about 172 units. The entire 487-unit development is expected to take five years to complete over a number of phases.
- Demolition begins on St. Mark’s Church, Aug. 9 — 605 views. The Hamilton Street church began to be demolished only to pause for some time.
- What’s up with West Main Street properties, May 16 — 596 views. The dilapidated properties along West Main Street came up during a discussion at a Redevelopment Agency meeting. It appears that renovations on at least the facade of one building started several weeks ago.
- Block of Carriage City apartments on the market, May 29 — 580 views. Since the most popular post was from 2017, to round out the top 10 for 2018, I added one more post from 2018.
Another development that saw significant progress during 2018 was the 194-unit Main & Monroe, which broke ground along Main Street after environmental remediation. Construction also continued on the 45-unit Gramercy, which appears to be all but completed along East Cherry Street and probably will begin leasing soon.
Progress is likely to be seen this year not only on the Main and Monroe development but also Reva Rahway, adjacent to Meridia Water’s Edge and Rahway Public Library.
