Renaissance at Rahway continues to rise along East Grand Avenue and Monroe Street. The five-story complex will feature ground-floor parking and 88 rental units, with an equal amount of one- and two-bedroom units.
T-Liners, a barber shop in the only property that didn’t sell to the developer, also recently opened in space formerly occupied by a bait and tackle shop.
The project has eliminated a short portion of Montgomery Street from Monroe to East Grand (photo above) as planned.
Here’s what the site looked like around Thanksgiving.

It seems like all of these new apartment buildings are being made as one/two bedrooms. My friends and I would love to share one of these new downtown apartments (I'm a life-long resident, they are not) a couple years from now, but we'd need a three-bedroom. Oh well, maybe things will change…
Hello, Does anyone have a photo of what this building will look like? Why would they build a five story building next to a senior housing complex? I foresee some of the residents in the area relocating.
I don't think I have any sketches but I'll see if I can get one. Riverton is more an assisted-living type of facility and not quite senior housing (like Park Terrace near Rahway River Park). If I recall, it's probably like three stories itself; I'm not sure why seniors would relocate because of a 5-story building next door?J-L, Usually the reason is to avoid adding kids to the school district wit new construction, so keep them one- and two-bedrooms.
